Where hire equipment falls within the scope of LOLER, it must be subject to the appropriate Thorough Examination arrangements.
This can include equipment such as MEWPs, telehandlers, forklift trucks, hoists and other lifting equipment.
Our Engineer Surveyors can carry out independent LOLER Thorough Examinations and provide formal reports detailing the equipment examined and any defects identified.
Where equipment is subject to a written examination scheme, examinations can be undertaken in accordance with the requirements of that scheme.
PUWER Inspections
Plant and access equipment can also fall within the requirements of PUWER.
PUWER covers the wider safety requirements associated with the provision and use of work equipment, including suitability, maintenance, guarding, controls, emergency arrangements and inspection where necessary.
Where appropriate, CSIS can provide PUWER inspection services alongside LOLER examinations, helping hire companies maintain a coordinated inspection programme.
